What is your airplane ritual? IPod? Sleep? Sweat Pants? Alcohol? Spill the beans.
I usually catch up on my reading or will do some writing.

What do you think about unidentified flying objects and people who see them?
Its better that they see them than I do! I believe that there are unknown “things” flying in space.

What is your favorite American city?
New York City. I like busy places with people scurrying about going to who knows where. I like the feel of electricity – the excitement that a big city gives with its skyscrapers, wonderful shopping, and great entertainment. That’s the animal part of me.

What do you think about the war in Iraq?
Senseless.

Tell us about your tattoos.
I don’t have any. One day I’ll be daring enough to get one.

What do you think about interracial relationships?
I believe if you really love or care for someone, no matter who they are, you owe it to yourself to be happy.

Who was your celebrity crush growing up?
Richard Roundtree. I can’t count how many times I watched “Shaft,” so I could look at my man. Shut your mouth!

Who is your celebrity crush now?
Of course, Denzel Washington.

What song and artist would people be surprised to know you dig?
“Purple Rain,” by Prince.

What’s your favorite late-night snack?
Ben and Jerry’s Chunky Monkey ice cream.

Who is the biggest influence in your personal life?
My Dad.

What is your favorite scene in a film?
In the film “The Color Purple,” when Miss Cellie (Whoopi Goldberg) finally gets the courage to tell Mister (Danny Glover) off. Miss Sophia (Oprah Winfrey) comes out of her stupor and says, “I’m home now!” I used an analogy of this scene in my first book, “Behind the Veil.”

Obama!!!!!

Name one book that you consider a must read.
There are so many good books, but if I had to choose one other than my own, I’d say “Their Eyes Were Watching God,” by Zora Neale Hurston.

Failure.
