PENNY FOR YOUR THOUGHTS WITH … KWAYERA ARCHER-CUNNINGHAM

In 5 words or less, what do you think about….

Bill Clinton?
If we really read, we will see the truth.

Malcolm X?
Include in school books, “by any means necessary.”

Oprah?
Amazing powerful icon for our children.

What is your airplane ritual? IPod? Sleep? Sweat Pants? Alcohol? Spill the beans.
Sleep, sleep and oh yeah, sleep.

What is your favorite American city?
New York. It is amazing, there is every kind of food, person and opportunity. As they say, if you can make it in NYC, you can make it anywhere.

What do you think about the war in Iraq?
It is unnecessary and did not need to happen. The war is another example of injustice at its highest.

Any tattoos?

No siree. Maybe henna on feet and hands sometimes when I want to have fun. But, that is removable. Since I am an ever changing woman, I don’t want to get stuck with any markings that may not represent me in the next four weeks.

Who is the biggest influence in your personal life?

My parents.

What is your favorite scene in a film?

“Daughter’s of the Dust” when the women were all sitting down under a tree in white clothing, making gumbo and sharing. I also love the “Eve’s Bayou” scene when Eve says to her sister, “Give me your hands in silence.”

Obama or McCain?

Obama all the way. He is our shining hope. We have waited too long for someone to represent all people as a black man. We usually have to trust that everyone else in the world will represent all people fairly, although they may not be of one of the races they represent. It has been unheard of for the majority of the world to believe a black man can do this. It is a long time coming, and the time is now!

What frightens you?

People who ask me what frightens me.
