Penny For Your Thoughts With … CALVIN RICHARDSON

PENNY FOR YOUR THOUGHTS… WITH CALVIN RICHARDSON
Crooner Calvin Richardson on the release of his third album “When Love Comes.” Presented by Electronic Urban Report.
Singer Calvin Richardson is a real old soul. That’s not to say that his personality is particularly mature or that he reminds you of a favorite uncle, but it is a true testament to his music. Real. Old. Soul.
Richardson just released his third album in his 11-year career. The disc is called “When Love Comes,” and yes, it’s just his third. That’s in part to the fact that his musical styling is timeless and reminiscent of soul masters and label legends. He’s inspired by the likes of Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye, and Curtis Mayfield.

“It’s always been hard to match the picture with the sound, but the fact of the matter is that I’m right there in the middle - I’m mid-30s,” he said. “I just maintain the edge and look by taking care of myself and I’m young at heart. The fire that was living inside of me 11 years ago when I first got in the studio to make a record, it still burns the same way and….”
