People often ask me what designer I would most compare myself with. I never had a sure answer because I didn’t want to be compared and begin my career in the shadow of another designer. I do however appreciate certain elements that embody my design aesthetic from different designers.

Recently, I had the pleasure to interview the cast of “Madea Goes to Jail” at a press junket in Beverly Hills. It was a dream come true, to sit down with Mr. Tyler Perry to discuss his process for writing a character like Madea, acting it out, producing and delivering hit after hit.
Why are we fascinated by the entity so named “Brangelina?” Part of it has to do with what we see play out in their personal lives, but I would argue that it mostly has to do with the very interesting choices they make on screen. Jolie had her turn in this year’s [...]
I’ve been a fan of Will Smith’s since the early days. And who is prouder that he is one of the very few stars who can still open a movie and promise a big opening. It seems as if lately, however, Smith is doing some mid-life soul searching, trying to challenge himself [...]
I consider myself fortunate enough to have made it to an AFI screening of Steven Soderbergh’s four hour meditation on the life of Ernesto Che Guevara. To many he is a handsome face on a t-shirt that has something to do with rebellion. To other people, like those “real” American patriots who are [...]

The buzz was intense. I harangued some poor PR guy at Universal for weeks. I finally got to see it and… and …d oes Michael Sheen get David Frost’s oh so distinctive that I can still remember it in my head 40 years later voice, right? Is Frank (sexiest Dracula ever) Langella [...]
It’s been a long, long journey making the film A GOOD DAY TO BE BLACK & SEXY. Personally, 4 long years of my life. There was a point, actually, several points in the journey that I was going to give up. I was my own worst enemy. Me. Life. If you [...]
Cadillac Records is a thoroughly entertaining vehicle that charts the beginning and end of the legendary Chess Record label. Outstanding music by Chess recording artists Muddy Waters, Little Walter, Chuck Berry, Howlin’ Wolf and Etta James provides the soundtrack, played with gusto by a stellar team of actors. Special mention always goes to [...]
Hello UTC,
What can one say about a film with Hugh “Sexiest Man Alive” Jackman, Nicole Kidman and Baz Luhrmann? You are bound to come in with certain expectations that Luhrmann will surely trounce as he has made a career out of violating convention, even his own. “Australia” is a sort of about [...]
