ONLINE SOLICITATION:
HUSH

OK, it’s seems like it’s now a daily occurrence that someone who follows me on Twitter or sends me an email, asks me to vote for them in some online contest or to vote for them so they can obtain a high number of votes to gain interest in some online contest.

THE BLUE WALL:
DO YOU TRUST THE POLICE?

It’s become so commonplace to hear that a black man was shot by a police officer. You never hear about white people being shot by cops.

ARE BLACK PEOPLE STUPID?

Are Black people stupid? And if so, I didn’t get that memo. The reason I ask is because I’ve noticed in politics, whenever a Black runs for office, it is naturally assumed that Black people will ALWAYS vote for Black candidates, simply because they are Black.

WHAT’S MY MOTIVATION?

Over the past couple of years, my level of excitement has sunk to levels I never thought I would experience until I was in my 70s. Sadly, it has hit an all time low.

NOW IS THE TIME TO BE SELF SUFFICIENT

With the economy being the way it is, people (with good reason) fear losing their jobs or not finding work. But, I feel this is a great time to become self-sufficient as being so builds up the confidence and swagger necessary to stay afloat in these tough times.

50 CENT: THE SMARTEST RAPPER?

At one time I would have named Will Smith, er, Fresh Prince, Queen Latifah, Jay Z or even Ice Cube. But after recent events, I’m going with 50 Cent. Despite the arrogance he displays at times, you can’t deny that this man can and has capitalized off every situation (that we know of) [...]

DON’T CALL IT A COMEBACK

With the recent resurgence (Once Again!) of Britney Spears, I noticed that with all the shenanigans and scandals and hysteria surrounding her, she has managed to again make a successful comeback or at least capture the attention of Mainstream America. It got me to thinking that this is like, her third comeback. Is it really [...]

RACISM:
COMING TO A TOWN NEAR YOU

So for years I’ve been reading in the newspapers and watching on TV and reading on the internet how race relations are great and it’s not as bad as it used to be. I have strongly disagreed every time I would see such a report knowing that I am a dark-skinned black man living in [...]

THE STRUGGLE CONTINUES…

As happy as I am that I’ve witnessed the election of a Black president, the struggle is FAR from being over! My primary concern and fear is that the number of people who were finally energized to actually go out and vote, will feel like their job is done and they can become complacent. [...]

HIP HOP: FROM VINYL TO CELLULOID

After watching a repeat of Ludacris on “Law and Order: SVU,” I had to commend him on his acting skills. It got me to thinking, who are the top ten rappers turned actors? I decided to do a list and see if you agree or would like to add others to it.
Keep in [...]
