CATCH UP ON THE SCOOP
NICKELODEON HAS CHRIS BROWN’S BACK & RHI, RHI & CHRIS BACK TO MAKING MUSIC
Even though Chris Brown, I am sure was urged by the legal powers that be, told Nickelodeon to remove himself from the ballot, however Nickelodeon Network says it will not remove singer from list of nominees for the “Kids Choice Awards.” Well, I thought they might have different take on “Chris” even though they rolled out the red carpet for Brittney Spears lil’ sister Jamie Lyn & her underage & unwed pregnancy.
Let’s keep it real Chris’s “tan” could have swayed their decision the other way so the support is surprising.
Chris is nominated for favorite male singer and favorite song for “Kiss Kiss.” He’ll be competing in the latter category with Rihanna, who police say was allegedly punched, bitten and choked by Brown last month. Chris was in fact charged with assault and making criminal threats.
An online petition asking Nickelodeon to remove Brown and Rihanna as nominees had 2,166 signatures. The network, however, says it will keep Brown as a nominee for his work as a performer, and kids will ultimately decide who wins.
I can only imagine the conversations in households across Middle America about this abuse situation. I wonder how many parents actually pulled their kids out of going to this award show which by the way is scheduled for March 28.
Word on the street is Chris & Rhianna are working on a song with Polow Da Don for Brown’s next album. Besides the fact that they are reportedly back together following a domestic violence dispute, but the duet that will appear on Chris’s upcoming album, due out later this year.
We’re told the song was originally written for Rihanna before the fight, but after the beat down the producer believed the track, which ironically focuses on overcoming difficult challenges as a couple, would be the perfect duet.
Anybody who still believes that controversy doesn’t sell is stuck on stupid. This is everyone’s time to cash in on this marketing opportunity. Unfortunately the real issue at hand starts to get overshadowed, just like R. Kelly’s case. It will get swept under the carpet and folks will be back to jammin’ in the clubs and buying concert tickets just to see him.
In additional cashing in news, Ciara had recorded the duet “Turntables” with Brown before the Feb. 8 altercation that landed Rihanna in a hospital with contusions and her boyfriend charged with two felonies. Word is, Ciara has decided not to cut ties with the accused singer. “The song is recorded and is supposedly on her upcoming CD. Mark Pitts signed both of them, and he doesn’t think anything would be weird with them releasing the song together.”
See, business as usual!
Akon also had his say: “Oh, absolutely!” “I wouldn’t take anybody’s personal issues or problems. I won’t hold them accountable for that when it comes to work. I think its two separate things.”
Although Chris has lost some endorsements and several radio stations have stopped playing his music because of his alleged assault, Akon said it’s not fair “to hold his whole career at bay because of it. He’s gonna learn and he’s gonna move forward and just hopefully he won’t treat the next woman the same way.”
Now, it is too easy for a many to choose to just walk away in peace and from the relationship rather than to put his hands on a woman. At first, because my super inside sources told me that Rhianna is an abusive maniacal woman herself, and she and Chris have been arguing and fist-fighting in public since they’ve been together, I assumed he may have tried to defend himself, with a hold of the wrists, a push away, then walk away, but apparently, it went a full 12 rounds.
My prayers for them both & I’m done!
COOLIO CHARGED WITH CRACK POSSESSION
Why? Why! Why? & What the Hell! With all that is going on in the world with war & terrorists, why would anyone think they could roll up to the airport of all places undetected with drugs. Greyhound maybe, LAX, that’s not happening.
Oxygen network reality star (”Coolio Rules” show) & Rapper Coolio was charged with a felony count of possessing crack cocaine and a misdemeanor count for possessing a crack pipe. Now we all know that he has suffered from addiction previously so let’s pray we don’t have to all do an intervention on his ass!
The 45-year-old Coolio whose government name is Artis Leon Ivey, was also charged with misdemeanor battery stemming from his arrest at Los Angeles International Airport. Authorities said he grabbed a screener’s arm to prevent a luggage search that turned up the drugs.
Coolio was released on $10,000 bail and is scheduled for arraignment April 3.
C-MURDER BACK IN JAIL
Damn, you can take the thug out the hood, but you can’t take the hood out the thug. Just as Master P is about to launch his new TV network “Better Black Television” to go up against the likes of BET & TV One, he has to deal with some family b**sh**
Corey “C-Murder” Miller, (Master P’s brother) was thrown back in jail for allegedly violating the rules of his house arrest. Now what sucks for Master P is that journalists alike, myself included, put him in this story as if he had something to do with his brother’s behavior. I want to be the first to say, pass no judgment on P’ we all got outta control family members and there is nothing you can do especially when you’ve done so much already.
Word is, C-Murder’s electronic monitor indicted he was out of range of his house for over 10 minutes, a violation of the terms of his arrest.
Miller’s lawyer Ron Rakosky argued that his client was home sleeping during the times in question. Umm hmmm…
Prosecutors believe Miller has repeatedly violated the terms of his house arrest while waiting to be retried for the murder of 16-year-old Steve Thomas. The artist is accused of shooting the teenager to death during an argument inside of a now defunct Jefferson Parish nightclub in 2002.
C-Murder was originally convicted and sentenced to life in prison in 2003. But he was released after an appeal and granted a new trial, when lawyers revealed that prosecutors hid the criminal backgrounds of three of their witnesses.
Just like OJ, once you get a second chance at life, sit your ass still & be quiet! Don’t go nowhere, don’t touch sh** & don’t say nothing to nobody. C-Murder, 37, is due to stand trial for Thomas’ murder for a second time starting on April 20. If convicted, he faces an automatic life sentence in prison.
