SOULJAH BOY GETS A BEAT DOWN
It’s been confirmed the lil hip hop youngin’ Souljah Boy was assaulted. Word on the street is that Souljah Boy and several of his close friends were ambushed and robbed at gunpoint after six men invaded the rapper’s home.

Usually the story is the rap cats are in the street dripping in diamonds and flossing to the fullest and that green-eyed monster comes out and attacks, but this time, Souljah Boy was at the crib chillin’.

Allegedly, Souljah Boy’s friend Jbar was nearly taken hostage during the robbery.

Just like that show “The Worlds’ Dumbest Criminals,” these idiots taped themselves. It seems that the following day after making the big getaway, a video surfaced of two masked men claiming responsibility for the crime. In the clip, the duo boasted of stalking Souljah Boy before the attack by attending his album release party and subsequently tailing the rapper to his home.

The alleged thieves further described the robbery in detail. They disputed initial reports of there being six assailants armed with pistols and Ak-47s.

Instead, the alleged robbers claimed the crime was completed between them with one weapon. But with so much chit-chatter and glorifying in the video, the cops tend not to believe their hype.

Nevertheless, Souljah Boy has gotten the green light on his new animation series called “Souljah Boy Tell’em: The Animated Series.” The school’s principal in the series is played by a live action Alfonso Ribiero (Fresh Prince of Bel-Air)

DR. DRE’S SON DIED FROM AN OVERDOSE
It’s so sad to outlive you children no matter what the cause of death. According to the Los Angeles County Coroner, the 20-year-old son of rap star Dr. Dre died from an overdose of heroin and morphine.

The body of Andre Young Jr. was found by his mother at the family’s home in Los Angeles back in August.

After toxicology and other tests, the coroner ruled his death was accidental and said the case was closed.

May he rest in peace and may Dr. Dre and family find comfort in their son’s memory.

JIM JONES TICKETED FOR NE-YO-RELATED BRAWL
I’m still trying to figure what the beef between was truly, truly about. Usually when egos bump heads it’s usually over some p***y. For some “strange” reason I doubt that is the case in this situation.

After the boxing clash in the Louis Vuitton store, Jim Jones was issued a Desk Appearance Ticket in lieu of jail time for a misdemeanor assault charge stemming from a fight last month with a member of Ne-Yo’s entourage.

After all of my years being around artists and their crew, it’s always a crew member raising hell, causing a ruckus, and acting a fool and the artist gets blamed.

The brawl went down over the Christmas holiday at the Fifth Avenue Louis Vuitton store in New York. Police say Jones punched and kicked someone who was traveling with Ne-Yo, whose crew was also shopping at the store.

The victim’s name has yet to be officially released, but numerous Internet outlets have identified him as a man named Vaughn, the brother of Tyran “Ty Ty” Smith, who works with Ne-Yo. Ty Ty is the longtime best friend and colleague of Jones’ rap rival Jay-Z.

Jones’ mother called into New York’s Power 105.1 Monday morning and acknowledged the altercation to host Ed Lover. She expressed hope for peace in the hip-hop community.

“I’m tired of all these rappers not doing their jobs,” she vented. “They’re getting into all types of crazy stuff. … Your job is called ‘rapping’ for the audience, for the people. Get paid, and take your behind home.”

Jones’ next court date is Feb. 4, a little less than two weeks before his next CD “Pray for Reign,” is due for release on Feb 20. The Harlem native says he’s ready to put the latest incident behind him.

“I really think I’m standing in the way of my own self,” he said. “I don’t believe it’s nobody else but me that’s gonna f— my career up, and I don’t wanna see that happen. … I’m done with beefs this year. I’m just gonna become a rapper. I’m just like Vanilla Ice and MC Hammer. I am a rapper. Leave me alone. I am defenseless. It’s to a point now if you slap me and I slap you back, you’ll be able to sue me.”

ANTOINE WALKER ARRESTED ON DUI SUSPICION

Former NBA player Antoine Walker was charged with suspicion of drunk driving in Miami Beach early Monday after being pulled over by the cops. Maybe being called “former” causes one to drink & drive.

The former Miami Heat standout and three-time All-Star forward for the Boston Celtics was driving a black Mercedes without the lights on when he was pulled over. The cops and their keen sense of smell or desire to be in the news, smelled alcohol and wrote in the report that Walker had a sleepy look on his face.

He refused a breathalyzer test and was being held Monday on a $1,000 bond.

Antoine struggled in 46 games with the Minnesota Timberwolves last season. His contract was bought out by the Memphis Grizzlies in December, making him a free agent.
