SHOW UP FOR THE FIGHT, AND
THE FIGHT SHALL BE WON!
”For the battle is not yours but the Gods” 2 Chronicles 20:15
All this talk in the news about battleground states as it relates the election had me reflecting on the above text.
The story goes, there was a surge against the nation of Israel. The King sought wisdom on what to do and how to respond. The ‘word’ came back simply for the army to show up at the battlefield, and see their deliverance take place. They would not have to fight, because ‘this’ battle was not theirs to fight, but the Lord’s.
All they had to do was SHOW UP for the fight, and the fight would be won.
I am confident that if WE (an army of people regardless of color, race or ethnicity) show up at the polls on November 4th, to vote for CHANGE - the way we’ve been doing in these past few weeks during pre-election - the battle will be won!
We must show-up and vote. In spite of long lines, inclimate weather and the ignorance of some who would threaten the rights of an individual to vote…UTC Readers, tell everyone you know…Show Up Anyhow!!!
HISTORY HAS PROVEN THAT WHEN WE SHOW UP, THINGS CHANGE.
Consider what happened in South Africa in their first non-racial democratic election, which was held on April 27, 1994. The African National Congress won 63 percent of the nearly 20 million votes cast. What did this mean, on May 10, 1994; Nelson Mandela was sworn in as South Africa’s President.
IF IT HAPPENED THERE, WE CAN DO IT HERE!!!
Now the truth is, we don’t have to travel way across the world to understand the value of showing up for the battle. In our own, and not to distant history, when people have purposed to make change happen and show-up where it counts, we WIN! Check the record, from Civil Rights Movement to Jena Six and everything in between. When we show-up, we can WIN!
I’ll see you on the other side of Election Day!
