RELATIONSHIPS

STRAWBERRY LETTER 22

One of the great things about being in a relationship is finding that person whom you can tell your inner most secrets and feelings. When I was a youngster and very inexperienced, I would copy the lyrics from my favorite love songs and pass them to girls I liked at school. It worked like a charm for me. Unfortunately, I didn’t know what to do with any of those girls after I got their attention. Plus, those grand expressions of love can get a young boy in big trouble. Today, I am much more careful about choosing my words but still think that a love letter is a great way for letting your SO know how you feel. Matter of fact, I wrote one recently:

Dear CL,

You have been requesting that I write you another letter lately and I know that I’ve kept you waiting for it. I’m sorry for the delay but I’ve really been trying to figure out just what I would say. I could easily write how much that I love you and how special you are to me. You would just think that was the same old stuff though, right? Well, I guess that never really gets old so I’ll tell you anyway.

Before we met, I knew that I would be a bachelor for the rest of my life, never to experience true love again. You have been such a pleasant surprise, a reawakening to the possibilities in life. Our love gives me hope for the future, for you, and me and for the life that we can build. Of course, nothing is promised but I see no reason why we can’t live the life together that we’ve talked about. Without you, I would simply be surviving, but with you, I am living life to the fullest.

Even when we are both the flipside of the Gemini, regardless of the issue we manage to make each other laugh. The sound of your laughter rings through my ears and touches my heart. Our inside jokes that may seem childish or weird to others make us laugh uncontrollably. The difference between you and I are very few, yet they are there. But we accept those differences, embracing them because they are part of something we love about one another.

Love is not a job, love simply is. Unconditional love is what I offer you, and with you, I receive the same. You are my heart of hearts, my soul mate, friend, lover and partner for life.

I will love you forever and a day. Thank you for being there, loving me and knowing what my true heart wants.

Love,

Krush

So, dear readers….

Do people still write love letters?

Ladies, have you ever written one to your guy?

When was the last time you wrote/received a love letter?

Wow, happiness can seem like an illusion sometimes. You are so blessed to have someone you feel so strongly about and know how to express it.

It has been quite some time since I have written a “love letter”. I guess the main reason being I haven’t found a woman that would “take me there” at this point in my life. I am not going to lie and say that I am not a bit cynical and somewhat jaded about the issue but I am definitely not totally against it. I guess I’ll have to see if a guavatart lady (GL) happens upon me. I don’t like cookies ;-)

That is soooo sweet. Even sweeter that she allowed you to publish it. Romance is gone. I need a man that writes me love letters and not via text!

I say we all need to go back to good old letter writing. Sometimes there are just things you can express in writing that you can’t out loud. Very nice.
